Hello Mary, some of our most current reviews are on our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/chioccassalon.
Laverne is a color artist. She takes my dishwater blonde and turns it back into the baby blonde I think I am. Even though I feel fat and ugly I leave there feeling beautiful. But it doesn't stop with me;she can do wonders with my funky 16 year old girls crazy color request. If she can handle a 46 year old and a 16 year old and have both of us grinning ear to ear, she can do it for you too!
I get my nails done here every 2 weeks and Theresa always does a great job! The salon is clean, the people are friendly, and the service exceptional!
Chiocca's Salon is high class but also very friendly and family oriented as well. Laverne cuts my hair as well as my 16 yr old sons. He won't let anybody else touch his hair, which is a compliment in itself! My sister also got a perm from Laverne recently and loves it. Teresa is their nail stylist... no drills, all done by hand and the best manicurist I've ever had... always done to perfection!
There are no shortage of places to get your hair cut. For almost the last 20 years, I have gladly passed by all of them so that Rachel at Chiocca's could cut my hair. I am not ashamed to say that I am very demanding and particular when it comes to a haircut. After all, I have to live with it. As a business owner, Rachel knows that taking care of a customer's needs, no matter how finicky, is priority #1. She is pleasant and professional. Every year she attends training in the latest styles and trends. Her skills are truly "cutting edge" (no pun intended). I sincerely recommend Chioca's to everyone. Just don't ask for an appt. on Monday's at 4:30 pm because that slot is mine.
I love my stylist, her name is Nicole and she is great. Chiocca's as a whole is OK. The salon is clean and the atmosphere is average. The receptionist at the front desk is hot and cold. I find her friendly at times and at others a little cold. The price for a haircut and style could seem expensive to some I am sure, though Nicole is completely worth it. I have payed alot more for stylists of her magnitude. Parking is easily accessible and my appointments are always on time and finished in a timely manner.
All Chiocca's stylists are required to train at "Bumble University" in NYC (they use the Bumble & Bumble line). Very polite staff, average "salon" prices (about $40-45 for a cut/style). The Salon offers nail and waxing services also.
I only got my hair cut once there, and my stylist basically ignored/refused to even entertain my request of a certain style of bangs. It wasn't anything crazy, and I honestly don't think it would've clashed with my face shape (actually, I know it doesn't because I've gotten it cut in the requested style before). She merely shrugged it off and said, "No... I don't do that. It's not really my thing, I never liked it. I just like bangs like *this* (as she motioned to whatever "style" she preferred)." I was a bit irked because it was my money, and she could've at least adapted the bangs to fit me. I don't remember her name, but she was probably mid-30s. Maybe go with a stylist whose hair/fashion you think is most similar to your taste, but all the ladies there do seem sweet and stylish 🙂 Many of my Woodlake friends get their hair cut here and all of them have fabulous cuts.
